ORANGE, Texas - A teenager is in jail accused of shooting and killing a 19-year-old man, then putting his body in a car that was set on fire.

Orange County jail records show Rashawn Dewayne Morris was being held Wednesday without bond. Morris was arrested Tuesday night.

Orange police responded late Monday to a report of a car fire at the end of a street.

Officers found an unresponsive man in the vehicle. Police said 19-year-old Dominique Marquis Janise, of Orange, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators later determined Janise had been shot and secured a murder warrant for Morris. Jail records show Morris also faces simple assault and failure to appear charges.

Orange is located 100 miles northeast of Houston.
