TEXAS CITY, Texas - A teacher at a Texas City ISD middle school resigned amid assault allegations, according to the school district.

The Texas City Independent School District said the incident between a student and a teacher at Blocker Middle School happened on December 6th, 2011.

"Actually, he told me he was choked by a coach," said Robert Armstrong, the student's father, "He actually put both hands around his neck, lifted him off the bench, and threw him to the ground."

Armstrong said he's not satisfied with the outcome of the district's investigation.  The teacher resigned and Armstrong said is free to go get another teaching job somewhere else.  Armstrong feels the teacher should have been fired and possibly even investigated criminally.

"What's not to say he won't go do it to somebody's else's child," said Armstrong.

In a statement, the Texas City ISD did admit some of the teacher's actions were inappropriate and unauthorized.
