Teacher Appreciation Day honors educators

HOUSTON - Teacher Appreciation Day is a chance to celebrate and recognize educators across the country.

According to the National Education Association, around 1944, Arkansas teacher Mattye Whyte Woodridge proposed the idea for a national day to honor teachers. Woodridge wrote to Eleanor Roosevelt, who later persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. It became official on March 7, 1980.

So we want you to tell us about a teacher who has made a difference in your life. What would you like to tell them?
