WATCH LIVE: Harriet the bald eagle's eggs hatched Saturday morning

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Harriet the eagle and her partner, M15, are patiently waiting for their two eggs to hatch and it seems thousands of spectators are watching with them.

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam in Fort Myers always streams during nesting season, but as the egg incubation period nears its end, thousands of users online have anxiously tuned in.

The first egg was laid at 5:03 p.m. Nov. 22, meaning it's expected to hatch Tuesday; and the second was laid at 6:13 p.m. Nov. 25, so it's due to hatch Friday.

Three cameras, which are nonintrusive and environmentally friendly, are positioned near the nest to provide a live look inside. Since they were placed in October 2012, they have captured the hatching of eight eaglets during the course of four nesting seasons.

Harriet is the mother to all those eaglets, but the first three seasons, the eagles were fathered by Ozzie. Ozzie passed away Sept. 29 after a fight with another male.

M15 courted Harriet shortly after Ozzie's death. This is their second clutch, or litter, together and their third and fourth eaglets. The mom and dad have been taking turns watching over the eggs, making sure to turn them and roll them at regular intervals during the 35-day incubating period.

"Harriet and M15 have turned into a well synced and loyal Eagle couple striving to continue their legacy through out the twists and turns of Eagle life," Southwest Florida Eagle Cam wrote on its Facebook page.
