Reports of suspicious package delays JetBlue plane at Hobby Airport, police say

HOUSTON – Reports of a suspicious package aboard a JetBlue aircraft at Hobby Airport Wednesday caused the flight to be delayed during an investigation, police said.

JetBlue Flight 282, which was scheduled to fly to New York from Houston, was delayed at Gate 30 after the report of the suspicious package.

Passengers were deplaned, while an HPD K-9 unit and HFD crews searched the plane.

No threat was reported to be found.

Passengers were re-screened in order to again board the plane, which is delayed nearly 2 hours to its destination of John F. Kennedy International Airport.

By about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, the plane took off headed to New York.
