No threat after suspicious backpack reported at The Woodlands Mall, deputies say

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – There was no threat to the public Saturday after the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious package at The Woodlands Mall.

Two stores had been evacuated as a precaution. 

The sheriff's office said in a statement that a male, wearing all black, had left a backpack in the doorway of a store and left it. Investigators later determined that there was no threat to the public. 

Investigators are working to clear the scene Saturday afternoon.
