Suspect arrested in Highlands slaying

HIGHLANDS, Texas - A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Highlands.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said two men got into an argument in the 800 block of Steele Road near North Battlebell Road about 2 a.m. on Thursday.

When deputies arrived, they found a man lying in the driveway. He was bleeding from a stab wound to his torso, detectives said. He died at the scene.

Neighbors said the victim did not live at the home but was a friend of the homeowner. The victim may have been trying to stop a break-in at the home, neighbors said.

On Thursday afternoon, a suspect in the slaying was arrested at an apartment complex in Baytown. Relatives identified him as 20-year-old Josh Grabow.

The suspect's family said that he stabbed the man in self-defense.

"All I know is my brother came over here with his girlfriends. They are her friends. They accused him of stealing things, so an altercation started and he felt threatened because they were threatening to kill him," said Morgan Massey, the suspect's sister.
