Surveillance video captures employees, customers being held at gunpoint at tobacco store

HOUSTON – Surveillance video captured customers and three employees of a tobacco store being held at gunpoint Sunday in northeast Houston.

The robbery was reported at 11:32 a.m. in the 8700 block of Jensen Drive.

The robber pulled out a gun and demanded money from the register, the store owner said.

"Employee got up, and then at the same time, he pulled out his gun and pointed it at him, demanding money from the register," the owner said.

He said the robber demanded cigarettes in a plastic bag, along with money from the cash register. 

"He took close to $2,000 worth of products, which was cigarettes and cash from the register," the owner said.

He said he'll recoup what's lost. 

"We just opened up about a month ago, and in one month, we got ribbed for almost two grand, and this going to be a trend. So, I'm going to put out a reward each time to catch these guys," the owner said.
