Store owner helps deliver baby, butcher catches newborn in apron

KSEE – A woman in California gave birth to a baby boy in the middle of a store Tuesday night.

Surveillance video from El Parian Mexican Market shows the customer clinging to one of the tables and then falling to the ground, then all of the employees rushed in to help.

Owner of El Parian, Issamar Sepulveda, and employees were trying to call 911, but they soon realized they would be the ones delivering the baby.

Sepulveda cut the umbilical cord and the butcher took off his apron to catch the baby.

Sepulveda stayed on the phone with the 911 operator asking questions, making sure the baby boy was healthy.

In the end fire crews and medics arrived and Supelveda says she is just thankful she was there at the right time.

"It was a miracle here with nothing, no doctors, nobody knew what to do, but the instincts were there," said Sepulveda.
