Stolen truck turns into police chase

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A Harris County deputy pulled over a pickup truck for a traffic violation, which turned into a police chase with a stolen vehicle.

The driver was pulled over by a deputy on Aldine Mail Route and MacNaughton around 2:45 a.m. in north Harris County. The man who was pulled over suddenly got of the truck and ran into an apartment complex, according to Harris County deputies.

The deputy did not know why the man ran away until police units arrived and reported the truck as stolen.

Patrol cars surrounded the apartment but the man was not caught, deputies said.

The owner of the stolen vehicle arrived at the scene to reclaim his pickup truck.
