HOUSTON - Video circulating around social media shows a man opening fire at a park near Rice Military, and it has Houston police searching for the city's latest Snapchat shooting suspect.

KPRC2 obtained the video, which lasts less than 10 seconds, on Friday.

A gunman opened fire near the intersection of Cohn and Cornish streets around 10 p.m. Thursday, Houston police confirmed.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, the shooter was gone, police said.

Police believe the shooting occurred near the basketball court at Cottage Grove Park. Neighbors find the matter unsettling, at best.

"Guys who have nothing else to do but be mischievous," said Maria McCannan, who heard the gunshots Thursday.

"That just shows they have a zero IQ in the first place. They do something illegal in the first place and they put it on Snapchat," said Harshish Dani, who lives near the park.

Thursday's shooting, and subsequent video, marked the second of its kind in recent months.

Video posted to Snapchat in September recorded a man and a woman opening fire in west Houston.

Prosecutors charged Michael Anthony Cuellar, 29, and Sierra Tarbutton, 27, with suspicion of deadly conduct in that case.

The gunman seen in video linked to Thursday's shooting remained at large Friday.

Houston police asked anyone who may recognize him to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
