HOUSTON - Houston police released sketches of the men they believe stole a car with a baby inside and then dumped the child in the middle of a road.

Police said the two carjacked a woman at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Cook Road last week. It happened as the mother and her kids were about to leave.

The woman said a man came up, put a gun to her sister's back and said he wanted their SUV.

"The window was open and I fought for the keys but in that moment, he threw me down started the truck and I fell," the mother said.

Three of the four kids got out of the car.  A one-year-old daughter was still inside.

The mother said she gave up the keys in exchange for her sister's safety. She said the thieves took off.

"I thought I was never going to see my baby," she told Local 2. "I called to God for help because he was the only one to make that happen."

Her baby was found not far away sitting in the middle of Stroud Street in southwest Houston.  A man found the baby and called police.

Police are looking for two suspects. Both suspects are described as 17 to 20 years old.  One suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and a white bandana. The other was last seen in a white shirt, black pants and a red bandana.

If you know the two men, please call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  You can remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward.
