A witness saw a man exit the minivan in the Home Depot parking lot and burglarize a car, authorities said.

Police said the victim had taken his money with him when he went inside the store and nothing was taken during the attempted robbery.

A similar incident took place four days later, police confirm.

Authorities said a woman drove to the Bank of America at Lake Woodlands Drive and then drove to Subway to unload supplies when she was robbed at gunpoint.

Police said two men exited a four-door sedan the driver had parked behind the woman. One of the men pointed a pistol and the other a shotgun at her and demanded the money she had withdrawn from the bank, police said.

Authorities confirm the woman gave the men the money.

The Shenandoah Police Department is urging people to be careful when withdrawing money and to never leave cash in the car.
