Shuttle Endeavour to visit Houston

HOUSTON – A retired space shuttle will make a quick visit to Space City. The shuttle Endeavour will pass through Houston en route to California on Monday.

The shuttle will depart NASA's Kennedy Space Center for California at sunrise. Endeavour will be bolted to the top of a modified jumbo jet for the four-day trip to Los Angeles.

Endeavour will have a two-day stopover at Ellington Field near the Johnson Space Center.

Endeavour is the second of NASA's three retired space shuttles to head to a museum. It will be stationed at the California Science Center.

Discovery arrived at the Smithsonian Institution's display hangar in Virginia last Spring. Atlantis will remain at Florida's Kennedy Space Center. Enterprise, the shuttle prototype, will be displayed at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York.
