1 dies in shooting outside northeast Houston convenience store

HOUSTON – A man was killed Wednesday in a shooting at a northeast Houston convenience store, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at 2:10 p.m. at 10012 Tidwell Road near Brock Place Boulevard.

Houston police said Kejun Doucett, 29,  was purchasing items at the Valero Food Mart when Ronald Green, 24, walked up to him and exchanged words. 

Police said Doucett left the store, walked to his vehicle, pulled out a gun and began shooting at Green. 

Officials said Green hid behind his vehicle while an unknown person in Green's vehicle shot at Doucett a couple of times. 

Doucett was shot in the head and was taken to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, where he died. 

Green ran from the scene on foot and the shooter inGreen's vehicle drove away from the scene, police said. 

According to authorities, Green's vehicle is a brown 2002 four-door Mercury Sable.
