Man killed during robbery at Harris County scrap metal yard, sheriff says

Law enforcement investigate following a deadly shooting and possible robbery on Nov. 5, 2018.

HUMBLE, Texas - A man was shot to death Monday during a robbery at a scrap metal yard in northeast Harris County, according to authorities.

The incident was reported about 8:30 a.m. at the DMN scrap yard on Eastex Freeway near Aldine Mail Route Road.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it appears someone robbed an employee of the business and shot them. The employee was found dead at the scene.

Gonzalez said several people have been detained in connection with the case and it is possible the suspect is among them.

The sheriff said investigators are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
