HOUSTON - A security guard's bulletproof vest kept him alive during a shooting in northeast Houston.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the El Reventon Night Club on Yorkshire Street and Irvington Boulevard when the guard asked a group of people to leave for being disruptive.
Police say after walking out of the club, one man went to his car, pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the guard in the chest.
The security guard says he returned fire, but it is unknown if the crook was hit by any of the bullets.
The guard was wearing a bulletproof vest, which stopped the bullet. He suffered only a bruise.
The gunman and the others in the group fled the scene.
