HOUSTON - Texans coach Bill O'Brien says the gap is closing between Case Keenum and Savage for the backup quarterback job.

"I would say it's pretty close," he said. "I think it's pretty close. We're discussing that right now. Both guys had good moments last night, but I think that Tom Savage definitely closed the gap and it's pretty close."

Houston's game-winning drive ended with Savage throwing a 31-yard touchdown pass to tight end Ryan Griffin with 59 seconds remaining in regulation. Savage then found rookie wide receiver Travis Labhart for the game-winning 2-point conversion.

"We're not headed for Hawaii and the Pro Bowl now," O'Brien said. "We're talking about battling for the number two job. I would say that Keenum is still two, but it's a really tight race between two really good guys, competitive guys."
