GALVESTON, Texas – A man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Thursday, accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child.
Ivan Brandy Martinez, 24, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.

The Galveston County District Attorney's Office said the incidents took place between 2008 and 2012 when the child was in elementary school and Martinez was a juvenile.
In October 2015, the victim's parent told police a handwritten letter was found in the child's room saying God's help was needed in telling someone about the incidents with Martinez.
The victim told her parent the letter was a year old and that Martinez had sexually assaulted her multiple times while they lived at a previous home in League City.
Investigators said the child told them the abuse included touching and sexual acts.
Assistant Criminal District Attorney Tiffany Alfred said in a statement that Martinez plead guilty to both charges.
