Reward increases in brutal murder of elderly couple

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers has increased its reward to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest in the brutal murder of an elderly couple in northeast Harris County.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of this case.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, Don and Reda Rentz were discovered brutally murdered in their home, in the Kings River Village Subdivision.

Don and Reda Rentz were retired and lived alone. They were last known to be alive on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 26, 2015.

A neighbor conducted a welfare check on the couple after they had not been seen or been in contact with family for several days.

Their daughter spoke Thursday and asked the public to come forward with information.
