Reward increased for suspect in 2002 murder near Dallas

DALLAS – Texas Department of Public Safety announced Wednesday the reward for a man wanted in connection with a 2002 murder in Dallas has increased.

Israel Aguirre, 34, was arrested for murder in 2002 but was deported to Mexico before standing trial. He was arrested again in the United States in 2005 and made several court appearances before running away, authorities said. Aguirre’s criminal history also includes theft and prostitution.

Authorities said the reward for information leading to his capture has increased to $10,000 for tips received during the month of March.

Investigators said Aguirre has ties to the Dallas area as well as Mexico.

Texas DPS officials said Aguirre is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest and left arm, officials said.

Investigators said Aguirre goes by several aliases, including Israel Aguirre Jaimez, Israel Aguirre-Jaimez and Israel Jaimez Carmona.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
