Restaurant Report Card: Roaches cause many infractions with local eateries

HOUSTON – We begin this week’s Restaurant Report Card at China Star Seafood Buffet at 12621 East Freeway, where inspectors actually found a roach in the food.

They also found flies and gnats in the restaurant.

They ordered the management to eliminate those pests.

Cockroaches were the problem at the Church’s Chicken at 7895 West Tidwell.

Here, the health department found dead cockroaches inside the utility room.

Up next, it’s the BBQ Garden Korean Restaurant at 1949 Gessner.

That’s where inspectors condemned 3 pounds of pork they deemed unsafe for human consumption.

They also found dead bugs, including dead cockroaches inside the lighting fixtures.

Moving on to Rey Del Pollo on Kleckley Drive, where health inspectors found slime in the ice machine, along with mold and mildew.

And we wrap this report up with The Cajun Grill on the North Freeway.

This week we congratulate the hard-working staff at Domino’s Pizza at 7270 Antoine.

You guys rock!
