HOUSTON – Your table is all set and the wine has been poured, but is the food safe?
This week in the Restaurant Report Card the El Tiempo Cantina at 1308 Montrose was written up for food not safe for human consumption.
There, health inspectors condemned 17 pounds of ground beef, refried beans, and flautas because all of it was found stored at unsafe temperatures above 41 degrees.
Health officials ordering the restaurant to throw all of that food away.
Pushing on to the Parisian Bakery II & Café at 8200 Wilcrest, inspectors report finding rodent droppings, as well as roaches, in the food storage area.
Are you a ramen fan?
This week at the trendy, new, Jinya Ramen Bar at 3201 Louisiana, health inspectors found 60 pounds of chicken, ground chicken, ground pork and cooked pork, all of it deemed unsafe to serve because it was being stored at dangerous temperatures.
The manager explaining to Channel 2 News that a problem with the walk-in cooler freezing over with frost caused the temperature to be completely off.
The food was ordered thrown out and the managers had that walk-in serviced and the problem solved on the very same day.
At Biskit Junkie on Westheimer biscuit-loving dogs have always been welcomed with open arms.
The owners actually had a sign on the front door reading, “Dog Friendly."
But health inspectors took exception to that sign and had it removed saying, the management will have to apply for a variance if they are going to allow dogs out on the patio.
Moving on to Mayuri Express at 1460 Eldridge Parkway, health inspectors here say they observed roaches in the restaurant and ordered the place to eliminate them.
