Man dies after altercation, shooting in southwest Houston

HOUSTON

Houston police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a southwest Houston restaurant Saturday.

It happened around 6 a.m. in the 6300 block of Windswept Lane at West Greenridge Drive, police said.

According to investigators a 40-year-old man got into an altercation in a restaurant. That argument escalated and traveled to the parking lot, investigators said.

At some point shots were fired. Investigators said the victim was hit and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Investigators say the shooter fled.
