Raging fire destroys 12 units at southwest Houston apartment complex

No injuries reported, arson investigating cause

Houston – Several families lost their homes Monday morning after a massive overnight fire burned through their apartment complex in southwest Houston.

Firefighters arrived to flames at the Ashford Buena Vista apartments in the 6000 block of Bissonnet around 11:30 p.m. Sunday evening. A two-story apartment building was on fire. All of the residents were already outside. The fire engulfed about 2/3 of the building before firefighters were able to get it under control.

Officials said no one was hurt, but 12 units were destroyed.

Arson crews are now investigating the cause.
