Purse-snatching suspects caught on camera

HOUSTON - A pair of suspected purse snatchers were caught on surveillance video making use of the stolen goods, police said.

Houston police said the men are wanted robbers.

The victims, two women, were walking from their vehicle in a parking lot in the 17800 block of Tomball Parkway about 10 p.m. Nov. 21 with their purses over their shoulder. That's when, police said, two men ran up from behind them and grabbed their purses.

"We were walking toward the bar and a male came up behind us, snatched my purse and it was her instinct to then turn around elbow them," one of the victims said. "That's when he grabbed her purse and threw her to the ground."

Police said one of the victims ran after the men. It was at that point that one of the men waved a knife at her and took off in a dark-colored car, police said.

Angry at the fact they stole her identification, credit cards and keys, one of the victims began doing some investigating. She said she went to all the places the men used her credit card and got surveillance video. Police said one of the men was seen holding her credit card in the video.

"The hope is we can get an identification and identify who these people are and bring them accountable for what they've done," said the woman.

Police and the two victims hope someone can recognize the men in the video. Once positively identified, the men will face charges of aggravated robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
