Caught on camera: Man throws puppy onto concrete inside SA store

Puppy injured in incident on North Side

SAN ANTONIO – Animal Care Services officials are searching for an unidentified man who threw a puppy onto a concrete floor last month.

A black Dachshund puppy was tossed into a North Side store on June 10 near Highway 281 North and Loop 1604.

ACS released surveillance video of the man and are asking for help identifying him.

He was described as a white man, believed to be in his mid to late 20s with, long blond hair.

He is seen in the video on a skateboard, wearing a white T-shirt with red shorts and black shoes.

The video shows the man walking into the store, removing a leash from the puppy, picking it up and pitching the puppy onto the store’s concrete floor.

Store employees rushed to help the dog and notified authorities.

The puppy, named Vans by staff at Animal Care Services, has since recovered and will be available for adoption soon.

Anyone with information on the man is asked to call 311 and ask for the Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit.
