HOUSTON - A charter school principal accused of having cocaine during a drug sting faced a judge Monday morning.

Hugh Guill has been suspended from YES Prep Academy-Gulfton pending the outcome of the investigation.

Instead of sitting behind his desk in the principal's office, Guill, 28, was called in to the judge's courtroom on drug charges. Guill was arrested last Wednesday night. Officers say he drove into a drug stakeout in the Montrose area, parked his car, got out, went inside a bar and was back in his car within a matter of minutes.

When he was stopped police tell us he was found with powder cocaine.

Guill is out on a $5,000 bond.

Superintendent Mark Dibella released a statement last week which read, "YES Prep maintains the highest standards of integrity and personal responsibility or all of our employees. At this time, we have suspended the employee in question and are cooperating with local authorities on this issue."
