AUSTIN, Texas - Air Force One touched down at Austin Bergstrom International Airport around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. President Barack Obama will remain in Austin through Thursday afternoon.

Obama is attending two fundraisers benefiting the Democratic National Committee. One of those fundraisers was held Wednesday night in a posh Austin neighborhood at the home of filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.

Security was extremely tight ahead of the president's arrival. Tickets for the event range from $5,000 to more than $32,000, and more than 100 guests were expected to attend.

The president will deliver remarks Thursday afternoon on the economy at Austin's Paramount Theater. Texas Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott is holding a news conference on the Texas economy, highlighting women in business.

The event is taking place before the president gives his speech.

The last time Obama visited Austin was in April, when he spoke at the civil rights summit.
