Precinct 4 deputy constable injured in hit-and-run after crash on Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON – A off-duty Precinct 4 deputy constable was injured Friday after being hit by a vehicle after a crash on the Eastex Freeway.

According to investigators, a vehicle hit the deputy constable’s car causing hit to crash into a guardrail. When he got out of the car, he was hit by at least one other vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop, investigators said.

A woman who was inside the deputy constable’s car was not injured. 

The deputy constable was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has to undergo surgery, but he is expected to survive. The extent of the deputy constable's injuries was not released.
