Prairie View A&M president addresses 'blackface' selfie controversy

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – A white Prairie View A&M University student is under fire after posting a selfie of her face wrapped in black tape to social media.

The president of the historically black college addressed the "blackface" selfie Monday. He said the student is back at home with her family and students need to use the incident as a learning opportunity. 

The floor was opened to students to ask questions and express their feelings about the incident.

The student has not been disciplined as of yet. University officials said they are consulting with other colleges around the nation before they hand out a punishment, if any.
