Police: Traffic stop turns into police chase

HOUSTON - Police said a traffic stop turned into a police chase in southwest Houston.

Around 1 a.m. Saturday, investigators said an officer noticed a car run a red light at West Airport at Hiram Clarke.

When the officer tried to pull the driver over, police said he took off.

Investigators said the driver led them on a chase down South Post Oak all the way to the South Sam Houston Parkway.

Police said they were finally able to cut the suspect off and stop him when he tried to pull through a gas station at Fondren.

The suspect's name hasn't been released.
