Police search for person of interest 'Juan' in deadly northeast Houston shooting

HOUSTON – Investigators are searching for a person of interest after a deadly shooting in northeast Houston.

Police released a photo of "Juan" and investigators said they would like to speak to him.

The search for Juan is part of an investigation into a man fatally shooting another man at a home in the 700 block of Rouse Street at about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 9, police said.

A couple of guys visiting the home saw the shooter walking away, according to investigators. Those witnesses later found the victim and called the police.

A witness told police said he saw a man he knows as "Juan" in a panicked state as he was leaving the backyard of the house. The witness said he found the victim's body and then realized Juan had left the scene.

The victim is described as a man in his upper 30's who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Juan is described as a Hispanic man in his late teens to early 20s.
