Police search for church burglars

MISSOURI CITY, Texas - Police are hoping surveillance footage will help them find the men accused of breaking into a church in Missouri City and stealing electronic equipment.

It happened around 4 a.m. Friday morning at St. Mary's Knanaya Catholic Church on W. Fuqua Drive.

Police say two priests were inside the church when the burglary took place.

Surveillance video shows the men loading up a white van with the stolen equipment, including two electric organs and a big TV used for the church's closed-circuit TV system.

Investigators say the men were gone before officers arrived.

Church organizers say they now have to fix a window that was broken and replace the stolen equipment before their next big program.

Anyone with information about the man in the photo should call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

The church has about 1,000 parishioners.
