STAFFORD, Texas - A house party turned into a SWAT situation when police said they got a call of shots fired.

Investigators said around 3 a.m. Sunday, the officers arrived at a home in the 1200 block of Glen Meadow near South Meadow in Stafford. Once they arrived, officials said everyone at the party began to scramble. Officers knocked on the door, but police said the people inside refused to come out, so SWAT was called to the scene.

"Shortly after the SWAT team officers started to arrive, they were able to talk the people inside into coming out," said Raphael Virata with the Stafford Police Department.

Police said nothing illegal was found in the home, but outside, a situation was about to erupt.

"There was one officer in the cul-de-sac here, trying to get names. She was confronted by a young man driving an SUV," said Virata.

Investigators said the officer ordered the driver out of the vehicle, but he refused. Instead, police said the driver rolled up the window, lodging the officer's arm inside.

Police haven't said much about exactly what happened next, but they said at some point, a shot was fired. When all was said and done, two officers and the driver were taken to the hospital with various injuries, none of them life-threatening.

So far, there's no word on any charges.
