HOUSTON – Two men are in custody and a third one is still at large after leading police on a chase that started near downtown and ended in Southwest Houston.

According to police, they ran the license plates of a Toyota Tundra spotted near Scott Street and Elgin Street and they came back stolen in an armed robbery.

The officers attempted to stop the Tundra, but the driver refused to stop and led police on a chase that ended near Denver Arbor Court and Hinsdale Springs Lane, police said.

According to authorities, the vehicle entered the subdivision and encountered a dead end, which resulted in the driver driving into a retention pond.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody. The third person fled the scene and police are still searching for him using K-9 units and a helicopter, police said.
