Police chase, crash sends man to hospital

The driver is in stable condition

HOUSTON - A man is in the hospital after a police chase in northeast Houston.

According to Houston police, an officer spotted three men in a white truck with fake paper plates in southwest Houston.

The truck did not stop and the officers chased them to Homestead and Ley roads.

Police said the truck ran a red light and slammed into a Dodge Durango.

The driver in the Durango was transported to the hospital in stable condition, complaining about neck pain.

Another accident happened at this intersection when police said a drunken driver rear-ended the police car involved in the chase. There is no word if that driver was arrested.

Luther Jones, 23,  was arrested on charges for evading arrest.

Officers are working with the auto-theft division to figure out if the stolen vehicle charges will be added to his list of charges.
