A driver hit a person crossing the road, but police caught up to driver after he attempted to flee the scene, police said.
The Pearland police were called to 3700 South Main Street, where a person had been hit and killed, but the driver was nowhere to be found, police said.
After investigating the scene and picking up on bits and pieces of debris left behind from the car, police were able to track down the driver, according to authorities.
Pearland police said they will not be releasing the driver’s name or information until they are able to conduct an interview.
The victim’s identity is unknown.
