Police asking for clues in 2006 cold case

HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department and Crime Stoppers are bringing attention to a cold case a family desperately wants solved.

It's been just over seven years since Steven Castro was stabbed to death outside a nightclub on Houston's east side.

Officials said on December 23, 2006, Castro and his friends were standing in the parking lot of the nightclub located on the 7700 block of Lyons Avenue. A small altercation broke out amongst several people around 2:15 a.m. The altercation escalated to a fight in which three people were stabbed, including Castro.

Castro died at the scene. The two other victims were transported to an area hospital.

Since Castro's death, his family and friends have honored his memory by offering their support to other local families that have suffered from violence.
