Pickup truck crashes into north Harris County home

HOUSTON – A family of five got a big shock when a driver crashed into their north Harris County home.

"It sounded like a drive-by," said Sarah Cervantes.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said a pickup truck crashed into the garage of a home on New Vista Lane near Lacewing about 10:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Deputies said the driver went around a curve too fast, causing him to lose control and crash.

No one was hurt.

Cervantes said she recognized the truck. She said she saw the man running away while tossing beer cans on the ground.

"When they crashed in here, a boy that we know who lives down the street couple of houses down, he's the one that ran the truck in here," said Cervantes.

Once caught, the driver will face charges that include leaving the scene of an accident.
