Phones, cash taken in electronics store robbery

HOUSTON - Two men robbed an electronics store at gunpoint on Wednesday.

Sugar Land police said the men, who covered their faces, held up the Radio Shack in the 3200 block of state Highway 6 about 8 p.m.

Detectives said the robbers forced an employee and two customers, a mother and her 11-year-old daughter, into a storeroom. The employee was forced to open a storage container filled with merchandise, police said.

The robbers took iPhones from the container and an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, investigators said.

"It took at least four hours to settle my wife down," said the husband of the adult female customer. "No one, no professional, law-abiding citizen should have to go through that kind of trauma because you got some knuckleheads."

Detailed descriptions of the robbers were not released, but police said they got away in a green Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban with 20-inch rims.

Investigators said the store, which sells video cameras, does not have a surveillance system of its own.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
