Woman, possibly known as Maria, wanted for questioning by HPD

HOUSTON - Authorities are asking for help as they try to locate a person of interest wanted for questioning in a woman's death.

Houston police say officers were called to the 5500 block of Antoine on the evening of October 27, 2012 after the victim, 45-year-old Lidia Jaramillo, was found dead by family members.

Officials say autopsy results determined that Jaramillo had been strangled.

Houston police say investigators would like to talk a woman about Jaramillo's death. At this point, the person of interest has not been charged.

Police say the woman wanted for questioning may go by the name "Maria." A photo of her was also released by police.

Anyone with information in this case or on the whereabouts of Maria should call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
