Person of interest identified in shooting of Stafford police officer

STAFFORD - Authorities are searching for the man they are calling a person of interest after a Stafford police officer was shot in the face over the weekend.

Investigators want to speak with Daniel Cruz, aka Jose Luis Cruz. He has a "Houstone" tattoo on the back/side of his neck, a tattoo of a city skyline on his left arm, a tattoo of a star on his right forearm and a tattoo of a cross underneath his left eye.

Officials say Officer Ann Carrizales was shot Saturday morning.

Police caught the suspected shooter, Sergio Rodriguez, after a short chase.

Police would also like to speak with Fredy Henriquez who is believed to be the getaway driver.

Officer Carrizales is out of the hospital and recovering at home.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of any of the suspects involved in the shooting of Officer Carrizales.
