Pearland SWAT standoff ends after man found dead in home

PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland SWAT standoff ended after a man who barricaded himself inside his home was found dead.

The standoff started at 9 a.m. in the 3300 block of Orchard Mill and ended at 6:30 p.m.

Police said they went to the home after they received reports of a man firing a gun in the area.

Police said they believe the 36-year-old suspected shooter was upset with family members and drove them out of the house with a weapon.

The man was found dead with self-inflicted gun shot wounds, police said.

The incident is under investigation.
