PD: Security guard sexually assaults teen he finds making out with boyfriend

HOUSTON – A security guard is accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl after finding the two in a parked car in a parking garage, according to Houston police.

Troy Anthony Whitfield, 49, is charged with sexual assault of a child.

A 16-year-old girl said that on Dec. 12, she was in a car with her boyfriend in the the parking garage of the Kings Harbor Shopping complex garage in the 1600 block of W. Lake Parkway and the two were "making out."

She said the security guard, Whitfield, banged on the car window and demanded that she get out of the vehicle.

The girl said Whitfield made her boyfriend remain in the car, but made her give him her identification and follow him.  The girl said Whitfield took her into a maintenance closet, then demanded that she remove her clothing.  He then began to touch the teen inappropriately and sexually assaulted her.

Afterward, the girl said Whitfield took her face in his hand and brought her to him, nose to nose, then threatened her.  He said she had better not tell anyone what happened or he was going to file charges against her for what he caught her doing with her boyfriend.  The girl said Whitfield kissed her, then returned her identification and allowed her to leave.

The girl told her boyfriend and police were called.

Police arrested Whitfield on the scene for a traffic violation, but took swabs to submit to the HPD Crime Lab to test for DNA.

The girl was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where a rape kit examination was performed.

Whitfield is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
