HOUSTON - A woman is accused of leaving a 5-year-old girl locked in a hot car while she went shopping at Memorial City Mall.

Leamara Craft, 22, was charged with endangering a child.

It was the middle of the afternoon Thursday when Craft left the girl alone in the car with the windows cracked, investigators said.

Witnesses heard the girl crying and called for help.

A Harris County sheriff's deputy was at the mall.
When the girl was removed from the vehicle, she was sweaty and had a hard time breathing.

Paramedics checked her out at the scene and determined that she was not seriously injured.
Craft was arrested and her bond was set at $5,000.
