One dead after crash, police call stretch of road a "problem area"

HOUSTON - One person was killed after a crash in Northeast Houston early Saturday morning.

Police said a pickup was speeding down Hermann Road, when the truck reached a curve near Ashworth Street.

Investigators called this a trouble spot, where other drivers have crashed before. Officials say the lack of lighting in the area, as well as the sharp curve make this a dangerous place for drivers.

The driver of the pickup truck ended up smashing into concrete barricade poles.

Police confirmed one person in that truck died at the scene.
