HOUSTON – Community leaders are coming together and expressing their frustration.
Many people are upset with the latest news of charges being dropped against the man arrested in connection to the murder of 11-year-old Josue Flores.
Stella Mireles Walters, a community leader, said, "This is not a good day for our community. We depended on the district attorney and other offices to make this an open-and-shut case and we've been let down."
Over a year after his murder, a memorial still stands at the spot where Josue was brutally stabbed 20 times and killed while walking home from school.
With investigators in the case seemingly back to square one, several spent this night leaving teddy bears and flowers at that memorial to remember Josue.
Jessica Molina, who lives in the neighborhood, said, "It's heartbreaking, you know, for the parents and siblings of Josue and the community."

Josue's family members admit they're disappointed with the latest development, but they still have faith in the system.
Guadalupe Flores, Josue's sister, said, "I know it doesn't matter what I think, but in my heart I know he is the killer. But I know there's not enough evidence."
They're now asking the community to have patience and asking anyone with information to please come forward.
With no one behind bars for the crime of killing their loved one, more than anything, Josue's family is looking for closure.
"Nothing will bring back my little brother. So I just try to have positive thought and look out for others as much as I can," said Guadalupe.
