SPRING, Texas – The case of three women found in Ohio after they were missing for 11 years offers hope to two parents whose daughter disappeared in 2010.
Ali Lowitzer took the bus home from school on April 26, 2010, and walked to the Burger Barn in Spring, where she worked, but never arrived.
"It gives me so much hope. All we can do is cry and hope that one day that would be us," said JoAnne Lowitzer, the girl's mother. "It was amazing."
"We have a $25,000 reward out there for information leading directly to her whereabouts and I will not hesitate to write that check if someone can tell me where my daughter is," said John Lowitzer, the girl's father.
Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch Mounted Search and Recovery said the Ohio case can serve as an inspiration to the Lowitzers.
"It's kind of bittersweet for these other families because the other families that gave up hope that their family member would be found alive, then this generates a brand new hope that maybe they will," said Miller.
"I can't wait to see her smile," said JoAnne Lowitzer.
I want a hug from my daughter. That's probably the biggest thing," added John Lowitzer.
"Don't give up, don't give up," said Frank Black, a volunteer with Texas Equusearch who has personally searched for many missing people in the Houston area. He told Local 2 the news out of Ohio is giving a lot of local families the hope they need.
'You know they're going through ten dozen kinds of emotions," Black said. "From frustration to being distraught, sad and depressed. This gives them some kind of hope."
