HOUSTON - An off-duty police officer was hurt when a man held up a gas station near the Galleria Tuesday night.

Police said a man held up the Shell convenience store on Westheimer near the West Loop. Investigators said an off-duty Houston Independent School District police officer was inside the story during the robbery and was somehow hurt. The officer was taken to the hospital.

Houston police have set up a perimeter and are searching the area around the Galleria for a suspect.
